The New Housing Connect Website Is Here & The Time To Sign Up Is Now

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for affordable housing in New York City, as HPD and HDC launch a brand-new version of Housing Connect that draws on user feedback to make the process of applying for affordable housing easier than ever: www.nyc.gov/housingconnect

• Customizable search filters connect applicants to the right opportunities:

• Electronic document submission & automatic eligibility assessments move applicants through the process faster:

• Real-time alerts help people stay on top of their applications:

• More affordable housing options than ever, including homeownership opportunities:

Starting today, people can create accounts on the new Housing Connect website, and starting in July, all new housing opportunities will be posted on the new site. (The original Housing Connect website will be phased out after all the rental opportunities posted on it are filled — more information here).

This is a profoundly challenging time for all of us, but I am proud that HPD & HDC have pushed forward despite the pandemic to deliver this vastly enhanced affordable housing service that will benefit such a broad spectrum of New Yorkers: right now, over 1.2 million people are actively using Housing Connect, and another 1.3 million are eligible.
